Scoliosis affects mainly girls from ages eight to 18; sometimes it occurs at birth, sometimes from assuming distorted head or hip positions, and sometimes the cause is simply unknown.
Even if your child hasn’t complained of any symptoms, you may have noticed they consistently carry one hip low, one shoulder high, or otherwise poor posture.

Neglect poses the biggest danger — early detection is critical. Undetected and untreated scoliosis will worsen, and in severe cases, can require surgery to attach steel rods to the child’s spine to force it to straighten.

The combination of early detection and appropriate age, gender, size, and weight-adjusted chiropractic treatment will improve posture, strengthen muscles, and help improve the structure of the spine.
